Hello all you DXers! I haven’t posted in 4 years! That’s just life being life, you know? Life changes, geographic changes, and technology changes are just a few of the things that took me away from MWDX. I will dabble when I can but a lot has changed. I just moved to a multi unit building from a single family home. Now there is a lot of RF/noise/interference from neighboring units as well as our own since we are also smart-homed to the hilt with devices. The last thing I was really focusing on were LW NDB’s because the AM BCB bores me. With their demise, I’m not sure what I can divert my attention to. We’ll see. When I have something worth posting, you’ll be the first to know!
That said, I did experience an interesting evening in the car on July 7th 2026. I happened upon a window of FM band tropo here in eastern Massachusetts. At 20:46 ET, 101.1 FM was overtaken by two battling stations. The first was ESPN sports talk that included commercials for businesses in St Louis MO and “Popeyes Chophouse in Saint Rose, Illinois”. Some quick research produced WXOS 101.1 FM Saint Louis MO. The station it was battling with was classical music. The only possible option I could find was WRR 101.1 Dallas TX. I confirmed my assumption with the webstream. Transmitter sites plotted on the map below.

Three new loggings! I seem to have not been successful in the past in logging stations on this frequency – partly due to a semi local which is still annoying even after sundown at reduced power.
Howdy!
First MWDX band scan log post in …. YEARS! Barefoot DXing has gotten so much worse in the past couple years. My home and the homes surrounding mine emit so much electrical garbage that there are noise and artifacts everywhere on the band. I’m still going to give it a shot though.
This night I chose to start with the x-band. There are no surprises here and nothing unusual for the area. I’ve included my Boston Massachusetts area locals as well.

Greetings~! Its been almost three years since I last posted a DX log on here! Life for all of us has been eventful to say the least. My DXing has been sporadic at best and I do occasionally make mention of it on the twitter account, Between personal schedules and electronically noisier homes and neighborhoods, DXing time is limited and isn’t has fortuitous as it used to be for me. That said, I do hope to do some listening very soon and will post whatever I am able to log.

Hey Guys!
Im a little late on the update here but better late than never! I received two new Canadian NDBs including Schefferville at about a 1400km distance transmitting at a listed power of only 250 watts!!

Hello!
I’m baaaaaaaaaack!!! This is my first logging in two years…to the week! There have been major life changes, career moves and other doings that resulted in a DX hiatus. In that time I also allowed my original website URL to lapse and I was unable to get it back. I was also on hiatus from the technical side of the web so it took me a couple days to get reacquainted with wordpress and get functional on the new URL. We are back in business now!
I am happy to report that I snagged a brand new LW NDB logging on my first real night back into the swing of things! Of course the usual Canadian suspects were present and accounted for. This was all with my Sony ICF-SW7600GR.

Long time no update! I logged a new NDB from the white mountains of New Hampshire. Other than that, pretty standard night. Band was more or less quiet with a few random bursts of skywave reception.
Just a quick retro-add AM BCB DX post. I logged a TIS from Jersey City on a portable which I thought was pretty amazing. I also had a couple other unique logings worth mentioning

Sooo this update has been a long time coming. My apologies for the delay. The reason why I’m even bothering to post is that I logged a couple new beacons. I rarely log US beacons that do not have at least a partial salt water path so this northern New Hampshire logging was worth a mention.

Hey Everyone! Remember me? Its been a very long time since I posted a log. Life has been busy and I haven’t had much time for band scanning. I have read things here and there regarding the DX season being eventful and I regret that I have not been able to partake as much as I would have liked to. Ho Hum.
I did have an opportunity right before Thanksgiving (US) this year to do some DXing. In addition to some LW beacons, I was able to snag a new logging – NAVTEX station “R” from Isabella/San Juan Puerto Rico!! See below for decode.
